Appreciation – The Seeds Of Abundance

Many of us tend to take for granted the things around us or that give us joy. We can go through cycles where we recognize the value of stopping and appreciating all that we have, but generally over time most of us creep back into our automatic behaviors of looking for what’s next.

Unfortunately, it’s part of our human condition to forget, unless we train ourselves to be different. When we recognize the value of appreciation and its role in getting what we want out of life, it makes it easier to stop and implement it. Appreciation is an action or an act of recognition of gratitude.

Why is it important to implement appreciation in our life? What about appreciation is so important that we need to constantly remind ourselves to be appreciative? Appreciation is, and will always be a door opener to our own wealth. We can’t really appreciate the things around us until we actually stop and recognize them.

I think this saying says it all,

what you appreciate grows and what you don’t appreciate disappears.

I’ve found this to be a very truthful statement, whether it comes to personal relationships, a job, our health, or a business. I’m sure you can look back upon your life and remember something you truly enjoyed and appreciated, and to this day that memory can surface and pull you right back into its fairy tale magic.

But what about those things that didn’t go so well?  Did you have a job that you hated, or a relationship that soured? Somewhere along the line we stopped appreciating its essence. We stopped acknowledging the good things about it and in our mind we started sewing conversations in the form of weeds that choked the life out of it.

Until one day we’ve had enough…

We either knowingly killed it off with good reasons, or our disdain had them kill us off. Either way, our lack of appreciation was at the root of its death.  If we have something we love and we want more of it we need to appreciate what we have. We can use language, or our actions, to show appreciation.

Appreciation blossoms into gratitude

It doesn’t really matter how you connect with appreciation, as long as you do. Our appreciation is the seed that grows gratitude. When we begin to appreciate something it grows inside of us to feelings of gratitude. You may wonder what is difference or is there a difference between appreciation or gratitude?

Joyful
Appreciate the present moment…

I believe there is… appreciation is the mechanism that allows us to notice and interact with something that has just been manifested. It is action oriented and requires our input, recognition, perception or attention.

To be grateful for something is a feeling. Its deeply rooted and heartfelt. When we are grateful we are fully connected to the depth of our nature. Appreciation is a lighter energy and easier to reach. Which is why I say appreciation is the seed that will grow into gratitude. It’s hard for many to initially be grateful to someone.

For some, extending gratitude can make us feel if as if we aren’t enough.  If I’m grateful for what you’ve done for me that somehow diminishes my own capacity.

It’s easier to just appreciate you in the moment. To be grateful feels much deeper and more difficult for many to muster. So to begin with appreciation is a simple and timely action step to get us to slow down and appreciate all that we have and all that has been given.

Gratitude connects us with the Creator

When we do this action step it will begin to grow into a feeling.  It will take root and move deeper within us to where gratitude lives. Which is where our life can become magical because gratitude creates abundance.

When we are truly grateful for everything, we are connected to the Creator. Gratitude opens the energy vortex to having enough. It opens us up to a feeling of fullness – and wholeness – that in this moment, all my needs are met. Gratitude creates a forward motion for us and for our lives. Gratitude is the energy of creation.

When we can feel gratitude we can make anything grow. Our wants, our dreams, our realities awaken hope in us.  Hope feeds our desires for anything from happiness, to forgiveness to a new relationship, to manifesting a new job, car, or home.

If you can jump right to gratitude, then do so!

And if you can’t find the feeling of gratitude then start with appreciation. Appreciating the fact that you are on the path to slowing down and learning how to feel again. Actions of appreciation grow to feelings of gratitude. Gratitude sews the seeds of hope and desire allowing us to manifest more of what we are grateful for!

Try it sometime and notice what grows!

Namaste
